Our Approach

We specialise in supporting expatriates settled in Portugal, as well as small business owners, who may have local interests. With special interest in the tax area, covering planning for non-taxation, non-resident’s local tax obligations, pension issues, double taxation, relief from home country taxation, and general advice and assistance on dealing with local bureaucracy and related issues, thus reducing stress and allowing for an easier adaption to the local environment.

Working Method

We discuss and agree with the client the basis of any tax position taken. We endeavour with the client’s assistance to prepare a tax file, based on facts that will withstand tax audit scrutiny and any tax position taken is based on solid grounds. We advise the client, if appropriate, on planning steps that may be taken to lighten his/her tax burden. Tax mitigation strategies work best if the client understands and takes appropriate advice before carrying out transactions, which in a wider sense, includes migration.

Fee Structure

Running a lean set-up we aim to keep our fees at a reasonable level. We set our fees based on hourly rates, on time spent and expertise required. Our business is geared to the individual and small business rather than to large corporates. Our fees are not contingency based or based on a hypothetical future event.

Geographical Area

We have clients all over the country as well as the Portuguese islands of Azores and Madeira. We also provide services to clients who reside in other countries but have business interests in Portugal.
